There have been black superheroes in comics since the 1960s, with numbers dramatically increasing since the 1980s. We have characters from Marvel and DC like Storm, Blade, Vixen, the Black Panther and Steel, as well as other publishers of hard to find but great books. We also have biographies of real life heroes like Martin Luther King, Malcolm X, Barack Obama and Michael Jackson.

BLADE is a classic horror/action film and the beginning of the modern superhero film. Check out some of the comics that inspired and were inspired by this trilogy of films.
